Yedikule Journal of Medical Sciences
1. Editorial and Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to Yedikule Journal of Medical Sciences must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration
elsewhere. Submission implies that all listed authors approve the content and have consented to the corresponding author
managing communications. Following submission, the editorial team conducts an initial assessment for scope, originality,
and scientific rigor. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable at this stage are rejected without external review. Submissions advancing
to peer review are evaluated by at least two independent experts in a double-blind process. Authors may suggest potential
reviewers with relevant expertise, excluding individuals from the same institution. However, the final reviewer selection rests
with the editorial team. The editorial decision is based on reviewers’ feedback and may include requests for revision. Revised
submissions should address each reviewer comment point-by-point. Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting.
Proofs are sent to the corresponding author and must be returned within 3 days. Articles are published online as ‘Ahead of
Print’ once finalized.
2. Clinical Trial Registration
Clinical trials must be prospectively registered in public databases such as ClinicalTrials.gov or ISRCTN. Trials initiated after June
2008 must be prospectively registered. Retrospective registration is acceptable for older studies if public access is ensured.
3. Authorship Criteria
Authorship is limited to individuals who contribute substantially to:
Study conception/design, data collection, or data analysis;
Drafting or critically revising the manuscript;
Final approval of the version to be published.
Each author must take public responsibility for part of the work. Contributions must be documented in categories such as
concept, analysis, writing, and revision. One author should be designated as the guarantor.
4. Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to funding sources, affiliations, or competing products.
5. Use of AI Tools
Authors must disclose the use of AI-assisted technologies in the manuscript or cover letter, describing their role. AI cannot be credited as an author. Final responsibility for content accuracy, integrity, and originality lies with the authors.

References

Identify references in the text, tables, and figure legends using Arabic numerals in superscript within square brackets, placed after punctuation marks. References cited only in tables or figure legends should be numbered according to the sequence in which the table or figure is first mentioned in the text.
Formatting should follow the style used by the National Library of Medicine (Index Medicus). Journal titles should be abbreviated according to the Index Medicus style; use the full journal title for non-indexed journals. Avoid citing abstracts. Manuscripts submitted but not yet accepted should be cited in the text as “unpublished observations” with written permission from the source. Personal communications should be cited only when essential and not available from public sources, with the individual’s name and date of communication provided in parentheses.
List up to three authors before adding et al. for works with more than three authors.
